Designer Bedspreads: The Important Things to Consider

Have you ever had designer bedspreads that are claimed to improve the look and ambiance in the bedroom? You can be sure that such bedspreads are quite expensive – even more expensive when compared to the other lines or products. But there are some things you should know when it comes to choosing the right item – and the more expensive it gets, it doesn’t always mean to be better.

Are They Always Better?

Just because you choose the expensive designer bedspreads it doesn’t always mean that it will look good on your bedroom. My friend once spent almost $1,500 for a set of bedspread only to find out that it looked horrible in her bedroom. The hip and trendy animal pattern didn’t seem to blend well with their bedroom and the overall effect just looked cheap – on the contrary of what she had expected.

It was just an example that the expensive branded designer bedspreads doesn’t always look good for your interior design. Brand and high price don’t determine the quality of the final outcome. Instead of focusing on the price or the brand of the bedspread, it is better to focus on your existing interior décor and the overall wall color.

The Useful Tips

So, here are some of the things that you can do if you want to choose the right bedspread:

  • Focus on comfort. Remember that your bedspread will be the first thing you see when you wake up and the last thing you see before you close your eyes. It should make you feel super comfy and relaxed. If you want to spend a lot of money on the bedspread, be my guest but make sure that you are surrounded by the colors that you love or the patterns that you adore.
  • Go bold but don’t go overboard. For instance, you want to combine the gray with the green – that’s okay –but don’t cover everything in gray and green. Having a white sheet with gray cover and green pillow cover will look great, especially if it is combined with the beige wall and rose gold setting. The mixture of green and gray for the bed is good but keep it simple.
  • Go shopping at places like Macy, Target, or Neiman Marcus. They have a large collection of high quality designer bedspreads in the affordable price tag that won’t hurt your wallet.
